Elfin Poem For Shelley
composed on September 20, 2002

When dark night o’er the forest creeps
And moonlight dances, glides, and leaps
To cast tall shadows on the trees
Who make love with the midnight breeze
This is the time when I awake
To seek the lad I soon will take --
The elfin boy sleeps by the stream
Enchanted by some pleasant dream
Unless his smiling lips give lie
Alas, to wake him now go I.
My fingers stroke his golden hair
So long and lush, and now I dare
Kiss the tip of one pointed ear
And whisper, ‘Ope those blue eyes, dear.
The Doctor comes to cure thy ills
To start then salve thy fever chills
To taste thy blood and taste thy pain
To have you o’er and o’er again.’
My elf awakes to pull me near
Receives my kiss and feels no fear --
He knows that ‘neath the moaning trees
Caressed by a hypnotic breeze
We two will soon find happiness
And that’s the end, I must confess...

Woodland Wild
composed on September 27, 2002

I met him in the woodland wild:
'Twas there I spied the elf
He saw in me some precious jewel
I saw not in myself

His golden locks stirred in the breeze
And framed his pretty face
A golden lock upon my heart
Which quick began to race

The midnight moon hung o'er the trees
Its light flooded below
To kiss the pointed elfin tips
In which his ears did grow

My elfin lad was tall and lean
An expert with the bow
An arrow shot with perfect aim
Into my heart did go

So by the stream in woodland wild
I wrapped him in my arms
And sank my fangs into his throat
With all a vampire's charms

The pretty boy sank to his knees
And let me take him there
He learned the sweet, submissive joys
Of being in Death's care

And when the loving kiss was done
His icy eyes did shine
He loved me then, and loves me still
The elf, forever mine

You're so beautiful
I'd like to take you home...
