Words From the Past
Welcome, mes amis, to Club le Robert, the hottest night club in Las Vegas. Our star performer is the one and only Dr. Robert, a singer unlike any the world has seen before nor is likely to ever see again.Dr. Robert had a hit pop record in England in the early 1980s, or so he tells us, but usually he performs cover songs with the backing of his Swing Orchestra. With his stunning blue eyes, ebony hair, snow white skin and blood red lips, this slender man has a compelling look about him.
What of the rumors that the good Doctor is a vampire from the time of King Henry VIII? That you will have to decide for yourself if you venture too close to our star. Girls and boys alike (perhaps more boys than girls, hmmm...) have fallen to his venerable charms. Will you be among the victims?
Give your coat and hat to the hat check girl and the maitre d' will escort you to your table. We've reserved you a seat up front for Dr. Robert's show, and a glass of our finest champagne. Just watch out for whomever takes the seat next to you. You may not want them getting too close to your throat...
Then again, you may.
He was twenty three years old when the lady Ramona made him a vampire in London, but she had been watching him for most of his life. A bastard of a nobleman and a kitchen wench in the time of Henry VIII, Robert was little more than a pretty child when he caught the eye of the beautiful but twisted and cruel woman.
For her own amusement she arranged his abuse so that she could rescue him from it later and become his heroine. Even when he knew what she had done, he couldn't escape her until she was banished from London by her peers and vanished, leaving Robert behind. Later she would pop up in his life at the most inopportune moments to encourage him to the cruelties he had learned to inflict himself.
Known as the Viscount Robert until the nineteenth century and the Doctor ever since then, Robert refuses to be addressed in any other manner, except by one or two of those whom he respects, such as Nathan Roulan, his patron and sometimes his lover for most of the past five hundred years. Aside from his brief stint as a recording artist in 1981, Dr. Robert has never held employment of any sort. His vocal talents are real, but perhaps it is the added charisma that is natural to the vampire which gives him his edge.
Come hear him sing at Club le Robert, owned by Roulan, but dominated completely by the Doctor. Maybe after the show you'll be invited back to his dressing room...

I don't mind if you take my life
Just do it gently...
