Seduction
July 15, 2001
Innocence is temptation
to the world-weary and wicked
Joy in its destruction
Offers a fleeting moment of return
To our own long-lost youth
There is challenge and thrill
In knowing you know not
Your own beauty or its power
A shiver in imagining your azure eyes
Wide with surprise when I steal
The first kiss and you will awaken
Rosebud lips burst into bloom
Ripe and ready for the plucking
As the serpent forces his way
Inside your understanding
Together we will celebrate
The gift we give each other
Temporal and brief as it may be
Pretend, my little love, pretend
That for now is forever...
