Sweet Peach
July 13, 2001
Sweet peach, let me caress thy face
So soft and ripe and tender
No apple has thy solumn grace
No love can it engender
Thy color is a rosy blush
Thy scent so sweet, so pure
A single bite of flesh so lush
Is all I can endure
I beg thee, peach, for just a taste
Thy juices gainst my lips
I would not steal a kiss in haste
But slow and languid sips
Sweet peach, come linger on my tongue
Enfold me in thy flavor
Sweet and fresh and ever young
And made for me to savor
