The Taking of Julian
July 13, 2001
The boy did slumber pon the hill
White-gold against the green
Fair innocence did lie so still
Nought sweeter have I seen
I stole the breath of midnights wind
And with it called his name
My intent for him was not kind;
I forced him to my game
Julian, my lovely lad,
My little sheep, awaken
The wolf is hungry-mean and bad
And you will soon be taken!
He sat bolt upright, eyes of blue
Oped quick and shone with fright
His pounding heart already knew
He would be mine to-night
I watched him gaze into the dark
Wondering what beast desired him
The fear he tasted swift and stark
To flee for life it fired him
I now stepped forth beneath the moon
So Julian saw my shadow
O lovely boy, youll be mine soon!
So he ran for the meadow
I laughed aloud as I gave chase
For this was what I wanted
I did pursue with leisures pace
Loving the lad I hunted
Beneath the stars I skipped and danced
Oer earth, oer grass and flowers
And soon the boy was mine, entranced
Helpless to shun my powers
A pebble cast beneath his feet
Sent Julian to the ground
And stunned he lay, my helpless sweet
His heart in terror bound
I stood above him, looking down
In triumph at my prize
He saw my face, let out a moan
Tears fell from tender eyes
I know not why, good sir, youve chased
Nor why I am your prey!
My pretty lad, I needs must taste,
And soon with him I lay.
Each tender kiss I took by force
Each sweet caress I stole
So long had I been on this course
Naught else would soothe my soul
Yet soon the boy gave himself up
to passion flew my sparrow
We drank from Aphrodites cup
And he felt Cupids arrow!
A shooting star spun overhead
And streaked across the sky
Sweet Julian did raise the dead
Now he will never die
I drank deep of his innocence
Now he is mine forever
Naught will breach my dark defense
And naught our love can sever
Perhaps I neer needed to take
My Julian gainst his will
Yet I had feared my heart would break
Were I denied my fill
He gave himself, this tender lad
To be my only treasure
He sees the good and not the bad
No pain and only pleasure
