Warning: Students should not try to create this potion without strict supervision, if at all. It is presented here for demonstrative purposes only and should only be made by very advanced wizards.

Ingredients:

  • Lacewing Flies 15 medium-sized
  • Leeches 8-10 large
  • Fluxweed a good, thick handful picked at the full moon
  • Knotgrass 2 knots
  • Powdered Horn of a Bicorn a thimbleful
  • Shredded Skin of a Boomslang 1 skin
  • Fresh Lake Water 3 litres
  • Bit of Person into Whom you are Changing hair or fingernails suggested

Begin by stewing your lacewings in lake water for a full twenty-one days. Once they are adequately prepared, separate half, then add your leeches, alive and whole, and stir until they burst. Fluxweed and knotgrass should follow, added in small pinches and mixed thoroughly. Allow mixture to thicken, then sprinkle in the bicorn horn. Boomslang skin should be shredded as finely as possible and stirred in until dissolved. Add the remainder of the lacewings and simmer on low heat for six to eight hours. Finally, when the potion looks like a thick, dark mud bubbling slowly and is issuing black smoke, pour into large glass tumbler, then add the hair, nail or what have you. The potion will change color. Drink quickly while holding nose.

When using Polyjuice Potion, be certain to remember that the effects wear off in one hour's time, and must only be used to disguise oneself as another person, NOT as an animal.
